Aluminum Extrusion
We specialize in providing comprehensive custom aluminum extrusion services for a wide range of industries and applications. From architectural profiles and industrial structural components to heat sinks, automotive parts, and consumer product frames, we work closely with our clients to transform their design concepts into precision-engineered extruded profiles. Whether you need standard shapes, complex hollow sections, or custom-designed profiles, we offer flexible, cost-effective, and reliable solutions that meet your exact specifications.
Extrusion Process Capabilities – A Full Range of Processes
We employ a diverse range of extrusion processes to meet different product requirements:
Direct extrusion is our primary production method. The extrusion ram pushes the aluminum billet through a stationary die to form the profile. This process offers simple workflow, good equipment versatility, and easy tool maintenance, making it ideal for high-volume production of architectural and industrial profiles. The technology is mature, reliable, and widely applicable.
Indirect extrusion – in this process, the die remains stationary while the billet and container move together, allowing the metal to flow through the die. Since there is no relative sliding between the billet and the container wall, friction is significantly reduced, lowering extrusion pressure by 30%–40%. Products achieve high dimensional accuracy and uniform mechanical properties. This method is particularly suitable for aerospace, automotive, and other applications requiring strict control over coarse grain rings and consistent performance.
Continuous extrusion uses a rotating grooved wheel and a fixed die shoe to form a continuous channel. The friction force continuously feeds the rod-shaped billet forward for uninterrupted production. This process offers high yield, excellent precision, and low energy consumption, making it ideal for small-section profiles, aluminum-clad steel wire products, and small-diameter tubes and wires.
For specialized requirements, we also offer lateral extrusion (for composite wires and cladding materials), hydrostatic extrusion (for precision profiles and difficult-to-machine alloys), and compound extrusion to accommodate diverse application scenarios
Aluminum Profile Types
Our extrusion capabilities cover a wide variety of cross-sectional shapes: solid profiles for simple structural applications, hollow profiles with one or more voids for lightweight yet rigid designs, and semi-hollow profiles that balance functionality and manufacturability. Our extrusion press capacities range from small-tonnage presses for intricate micro-profiles to large-tonnage presses for heavy structural sections.
We support both standard profiles from our extensive existing tooling library and custom profiles based on your technical drawings. For custom projects, we provide in-house die design and manufacturing services, ensuring optimal metal flow and dimensional accuracy from the very first extrusion run.
Alloy Selection – The Right Material for Every Application
We work with a comprehensive range of aluminum alloys to match specific performance requirements. Our commonly used alloys include:
6063: Excellent surface finish and corrosion resistance, ideal for architectural and decorative applications
6060: Good formability and weldability
6082: Higher strength for structural components
6005A: Balanced mechanical properties and extrusion speed
6061: Superior machinability and strength
For specialized applications, we also offer 5000 series alloys (such as 5052, 5083) for enhanced corrosion resistance in marine environments, and select 7000 series alloys for ultra-high strength requirements. Our material selection guidance ensures that your profiles achieve the optimal balance between performance, extrudability, and cost-effectiveness.
Surface Treatment & Finishing Options
We offer a wide range of surface finishing services to enhance both the appearance and durability of extruded aluminum profiles:
Anodizing (clear, bronze, champagne, and custom colors) for a durable, corrosion-resistant oxide layer
Electrophoretic coating for superior gloss and weatherability
Powder coating in any RAL or custom color for a thick, durable finish suitable for outdoor applications
Wood grain transfer for decorative architectural applications
PVDF coating for extreme weather resistance in curtain wall applications
Chemical conversion coatings (chromate or non-chromate) for parts requiring electrical conductivity or enhanced paint adhesion
We also offer brushing, polishing, and sandblasting to achieve specific surface textures.
